Both counselors and coaches seek to help individuals improve their lives, identify and address barriers to change, and rely on creating a supportive environment to achieve goals.

Generally, Counseling is more introspective, often retrospective, and focused on one's perceptions, thoughts, and emotions. The objective is to help people identify and resolve aspects of their current or past experience that are negatively impacting their emotional well-being, thinking, behavior, and/or functioning. Whereas, Coaching is often considered to be more present and forward-oriented with a focus on action. Objectives are more practical in terms of goal-setting, developing change plans, implementing strategies for change, and being accountable for progress towards said goals.

The choice of Counseling or Coaching Services is based on a number of factors and in consultation with the provider. We will discuss the “pros” and “cons” so you can make the most informed decision.

"I welcome ALL teens and adults and value serving diverse clients with varied racial and cultural backgrounds, nationalities, sexual orientations, gender identities, family structures, and abilities. I am constantly reminded of the symbiotic nature of this work as I continue to learn and grow from each interaction. I celebrate our differences and am committed to doing my own work to better understand how privilege manifests in my life and how I may conduct myself in a manner that contributes to a more equitable society for all.
